OBJECTIVE

The project aims to add value to some by products resulted from milk and poultry egg industry and to also use undervalued beekeeping products with health benefits for the obtaining, in environmentally friendly ways, of new innovative products: multi-protein and multi-mineral dietary supplements based on proteins and minerals from whey, egg shell and beekeeping products, suited for people with special needs (children, elderly, sportsmen), formulated as effervescent tablets, capsules, pills, powders, drinks, bars; products for external use (ointments, solutions, gels) with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects.

PROJECT  EXPECTED  REZULTS 

  1. Optimized process to obtain new functional ingredients which deliver health benefits, represented by:

– whey proteins and individual protein fractions with important nutritional and functional attributes

– egg shell minerals, as a natural Ca, Mg, F source, for human nutrition, in a form which is acceptable by the body, with a positive effect on bone metabolism, to compensate the deficiencies of mineral in bone tissues

–  hydrolyzed egg shell membrane for maintaining healthy joint and connective tissues

  1. New innovative dietary supplements, with health promoting properties, based on whey and hydrolyzed egg shell membrane, egg shell minerals and beekeeping products, which can include usually pre/probiotics, vitamins, palatable (natural flavors), too, chosen from a variety of delivery options (drinks, effervescent tablets, pills, powders, capsules, bars, hydro-soluble powders)
  2. New innovative products for external use (gels, ointments, solutions) containing egg shell membrane collagen, mineral salts, propolis, capping, for natural joint health and wound cure
  3. New innovative feed mixtures for layer hens (eggs production) and broilers chicken (chicken meat production) based on bioactive compounds from whey, egg shell.
