Natural extract of chestnut contains tannin, carbohydrates (mainly glucose, fructose, mannose and xylose) and minerals (Ca, P, Mg, K, Na, etc).
Tannin acts as antioxidant, anticarcinogenic, antiviral agent. It determines coagulation of the blood proteins from the digestive tract, reducing the bleeding in this area.
Sugars provide energy and stimulate the food conversion and the minerals partially cover the daily required intake for animals.
CASTANROM protects the digestive tract, especially in restless animals; it protects the digestive mucosa against microbial colonization preventing release of toxins; it balances the number of microorganisms from the digestive tract, slowing peristalsis and favoring the better absorption of nutrients.
CASTANROM reduces the amount of ammonia excreted by dogs and improves consistency of feces.
CASTANROM prevents the gastrointestinal disorders caused by low temperatures, inadequate food or water and other stress factors; it improves the health status of animals in case of digestive disorders, infectious diseases, infection with clostridium, mycotoxins, E. coli.
The product is recommended in diarrhea, hemorrhagic enteritis or gastroenteritis caused by various parasites, poisoning or infectious diseases (parvovirosis, Carré disease) for better digestion, for elimination of fetid odor of feces and for improving their consistency.
Castanrom is recommended as anti vomiting product and as antidote in poisoning with alkaloids, glycosides and heavy metals.
Do not use the product in anemic or constipated animals and in animals with gastric ulcer.
High doses may cause anorexia followed after a while by gastroenteritis due to the irritant action of high concentration of tannin. Feces become dark due to tannin from the composition of the product.
METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
The product is administered orally, per se or after the previous grinding and incorporating into the food.
- 1 – 3 tablets/day are administered for 2 – 5 days, depending on body weight and health condition of the digestive tract of the dog, as follows:
- up to 10 kg: 1 tablet/day;
- between 10 – 20 kg: 2 tablets/day;
over 20 kg: 3 tablets/day.
The body weight of the animal should be correctly assessed in order to avoid under- or overdoses.
