Excipient (dextrose, lactose) ad 100 g
Doxycycline is a second generation tetracycline with very broad spectrum of action, rapid absorption from the digestive tract and low toxicity, allowing the administration in weakened animals as well.
The main germs doxycycline is effective against: Salmonella spp., Pasteurella spp., Bordetella spp., E. coli, staphylococci, streptococci, clostridia, Chlamydia, mycoplasma.
Calves, swine, poultry (chickens and pigeons not for human consumption)
All primary and secondary diseases of the respiratory, digestive and urinary tracts caused by doxycycline-sensitive germs. It is indicated in bronchopneumonia, omphalophlebitis, enteritis, nephritis.
Do not administer in pigeons intended for human consumption.
Do not administer in animals with known hypersensitivity to the active substance or excipients.
Mycotic stomatitis or vaginitis may occur during long-term treatment. Very rarely, symptoms like vomit, diarrhea or digestive superinfections may occur. As in the case of all tetracyclines, allergies or photosensitivity may occur. Should you notice severe reactions or other effects not mentioned in this leaflet, please inform your veterinarian.
METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Administer Doxyrom 10%, powder for oral solution, by dilution in drinking water (in swine, chickens and pigeons) or milk / milk replacers (in calves).
In calves, swine and chickens, the dose is 2g Doxyrom 10% /10 kg body weight / day for 5 – 8 consecutive days.
In pigeons not for human consumption, the dose is 1 g Doxyrom 10% / 6,6 kg body weight / day, for 5 – 6 consecutive days.
In target species, administer the daily dose in two episodes at 12 hours interval, in freshly prepared solution.
For appropriate dosage, accurately assess body weight.
Since it is a tetracycline, do not administer the product at the same time with antacids or salts of certain metals (Al, Ca, Mg, Fe).
Long-term administration may cause mycotic stomatitis or vaginitis.
Do not use in laying hens for human consumption.
Do not use in lactating animals.
Can be used during pregnancy.
Meat and offal: calves -14 days, swine – 7 days, chickens – 5 days.
