Inactivated vaccine against animal rabies

Dogs, cats, cattle, sheep, goats and equines
It is intended for the active immunization against rabies in rabies-susceptible domestic animals. The onset of immunity takes place 14 days after revaccination and lasts for 12 months. Revaccinate the animals on yearly basis to maintain immunity.
There are no major contraindications; still, do not use in very infected sick animals with severe metabolic disorders or immunosuppressed (subjected to corticosteroid, radioisotope treatment etc.). Do not vaccinate assaulted animals (beaten or scratched) or in contact with rabid animals. Vaccinate animals which have bitten or scratched people only at the end of their observation period.
The product is well tolerated, but local reactions (rash, lumps) may appear sometimes but subside in the following period. States of general hypersensitivity may occur by exception and in this case antihistaminic, adrenalin or glucorticoid medication may be administered.
DOSAGE FOR EACH SPECIES, ROUTE(S) AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
The vaccine dose is 1 ml for all target species.
Inoculate by intramuscular or subcutaneous route in dogs and cats, by subcutaneous route in sheep and goats and by intramuscular route in cattle and equines. Shake vigorously the vaccine vial before administration.
Carry out the first vaccination at the age of minimum 3 months in dogs and cats and the age of 6 months in cattle and equine. Revaccinate the animals receiving the vaccine at the age of 3-12 months one year after, the protection against rabies being provided for 2 years. Revaccinate dogs, cats, sheep and goats annually and cattle and equine every 2 years. Revaccinate on regular basis to maintain immunity, according to the specific regulations of each country.
ADVICE ON CORRECT ADMINISTRATION
After unsealing, use the vaccine in maximum 8 hours. Vaccinate only clinically healthy animals. Avoid any transport-, batching-, weaning-, specific training-related stress one week before and after vaccination. Vaccinate carefully the animals in the last part of pregnancy to avoid mechanical abortion.
For cattle, sheep, goats, equine: meat and milk = 0 days
