Active substance: Vitamin K3 (Menadione) 5mg/ml
Excipient water for injection
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION
Vitamin K3 has a strong anti-hemorrhagic effect due to its essential role in hepatic synthesis of prothrombin and in coagulation process; it acts on the capillary vessels endothelia and on fibrinogen. Deficiency of Vitamin K3 deficiency causes hemorrhages and hypo protrhrombinemia. High doses of vitamin K3 activates the reticulohistiocytic system, produces diuresis (in generalized oedema), stimulates the functioning of bone marrow and liver.
TARGET SPECIES
Horses, cattle, swine, sheep, goats, dogs, cats and fowl (hen, turkey, guinea fowl, quail, pheasant, peacock, goose, duck and pigeon)
INDICATIONS
In animals with bleeding disorders occurred after infectious, parasitic diseases or poisoning.
In chickens and avian youth: in hemorrhagic syndrome induced by long lasting treatment with sulfamides or antibiotics and as adjuvant in the specific treatment of coccidiosis.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not use in animals with hepatic disorders.
Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to the active substance.

METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Vitamina K3 solution is injected subcutaneously or intramuscularly in a daily dose as follows:
- horses and cattle: 5 – 10 ml
- swine, sheep, goats: 2 – 5 ml
- dogs, cats and poultry (hen, turkey, guinea fowl, quail, pheasant, peacock, goose, duck): 1 – 2 ml
– pigeon: 0.3 ml (can be inoculated at the hemorrhagic site);
The treatment lasts for 3 to 5 days.
WARNINGS
Do not mix Vitamina K3 – solution for injection with other injectable or perfusable solutions.
In pigeons, Vitamina K3 – solution for injection may be injected in the site where bleeding occurred.
To reduce anaerobic infection risk, avoid injection in skin wounds.
Caution when inject this product in newborn and suckling animals.
